Home: The Key to Hope

Lucy Holton-Walsh, Senior Community & Events Executive

“Sharing my story—both the struggles and the triumphs—alongside others has been a powerful and empowering experience. I’m also eager to learn from the diverse stories being shared. I hope the exhibition fosters understanding and empathy, raising awareness and inspiring meaningful change.”  - Archie, contributing artist

South Wales Skylight members have recently launched an art exhibition Home: The Key to Hope in the Senedd (Welsh Parliament) building in Cardiff Bay.

This fantastic exhibition sends a powerful message about the importance of home and also raises awareness of some of the barriers that people experiencing homelessness can face.

A huge thank you to our members who spoke, to our local Member of the Senedd, Julie James, for hosting, the Cabinet Secretary for Housing and Local Government for speaking at our launch and to everyone who came along to celebrate with us and view the exhibit.

Free to view 7 January – 13 February 2025.

“The message I hope that people will take away from the Senedd exhibition is that homelessness can happen to anybody and at anytime. I hope people's attitudes toward being homeless changes, as did mine. There is still a lot of misunderstanding by people of homelessness and I hope that they will view it with more empathy.”  - Contributing artist
