Crisis Cymru responds to the Welsh Government’s Supplementary Budget
23.06.2026
As the Welsh Government publishes its supplementary budget today, Crisis Cymru has warmly welcomed the additional £20million earmarked for the Social Housing Grant.
Debbie Thomas, Head of Policy in Wales at Crisis said: “Right now, thousands of people across Wales are experiencing homelessness and all the trauma that comes with it. Delivering a significant boost in genuinely affordable homes must be a key part of ending homelessness for everyone in Wales, so this uplift is very much welcome.
“It will be essential that the Welsh Government looks to ensure investment in social housing aligns with the needs of people experiencing homelessness – so that we can provide the right homes in the right places to give people a stable place to call home.
“We hope that in subsequent budgets, the Welsh Government will also look to invest heavily in homelessness prevention and services, so that the incoming changes to homelessness legislation can be implemented effectively and fulfil its potential to reduce homelessness across the country.”
