First parliamentary reception for APPG for Ending Homelessness
10.10.2016
The All Party Parliamentary Group for Ending Homelessness hosted its first Parliamentary reception yesterday to mark World Homeless Day.
Chaired by David Mackintosh MP with support from Crisis, the APPG for Ending Homelessness will work with organisations and MPs from across the political spectrum to put homelessness at the top of the political agenda and develop the policy solutions which will help prevent and resolve homelessness for good.
The event was an opportunity for MPs and Peers to meet people with experience of homelessness and brought together homelessness organisations large and small.
Speakers included Bob Blackman MP, who launched his ‘Homelessness Reduction Bill’, as well as people with firsthand experience of homelessness.
The event also featured performances from The Choir With No Name.
