Collect for Crisis

Small change makes a big difference

Whether you join us at a Crisis bucket collection or organise your own, you'll be helping someone begin their life out of homelessness.

We’ll provide all the support and materials you need to make sure you feel comfortable and have an enjoyable day!

Join a Crisis collection

This Christmas, we’re organising a number of collections across London train stations and other events throughout November and December. We're looking for enthusiastic volunteers to join us for a few hours to collect donations and help raise awareness of Crisis' work.

By volunteering at a collection, you will be joining a friendly and supportive community of people who care about ending homelessness.

Before your shift, we'll send you a volunteering brief. On the day, a Crisis volunteer or member of staff will meet you and provide a Crisis t-shirt, collection bucket, and contactless machine to help you raise as much as possible.

Hold your own collection

Holding a bucket collection is a great way to share your passion for our cause. You can choose to collect at your workplace, community centre, at a local event or club, or your local high street- it's up to you!

If you are happy to organise your own collection, we can provide buckets and fundraising materials that you will have to pick up from our London Skylight:

50 Commercial Street, London, E1 6LT

The legal bit

Collecting on private property

If the collection is to take place on private premises, (e.g. shopping centres, shopping centre car parks, train station forecourts) it is your responsibility to obtain written permission from the site holders or owners.

Collecting on public property

If it is a street or house to house collection or in a public place, you will be required to obtain permission from your local authority, or the Metropolitan Police if it is in London. House-to-house collections also include visits to pubs, offices and factories.

Most councils have details of how to apply for a license on their website. This process can take time, so it's important to plan ahead.

Please familiarise yourself with best practice guidance from the Fundraising Regulator.
