You and your family members of all ages are invited to take part in an exclusive virtual challenge to end homelessness on Saturday 30 May 2020.

The past few months have been challenging for all of us. At the same time, thousands of families are discovering new opportunities for creativity, learning and laughter. We invite you to get creative for Crisis from the comfort of your own home.

This free virtual challenge, 'A Future without Homelessness', brings together Crisis supporters from every generation, providing attendees with the opportunity to explore what it means to be homeless, and how we can all play our part in ending it once and for all.

What is the challenge?

'A Future Without Homelessness' aims to introduce children and young adults to homelessness, and how we can end it, in an interactive and dynamic app-based challenge format that they can play from home.

All content is suitable for young people and the game will be available in three versions for you and your family to choose from:

  • Georgia’s story (for children aged 6 - 11)
  • Daniel’s story (for children aged 6 – 11)
  • Young adult edition (ages 12 - 18)

Players will complete quiz questions, photo and video challenges which will encourage them to explore different aspects of homelessness. Their answers will be scored and the winner revealed on a live leader board that will run throughout the game stream.

Players will have the option to include their footage and photography in the final game slideshow and enter into a competition to have their ideas shared on the Crisis Instagram page.

In a time of physical disconnect, we encourage players to use this virtual event as an opportunity to spread messages of hope and togetherness that we can share with homeless people who are self-isolating. In addition to completing the challenge, you may decide to post a video or photo of you and your family doing one of the following:

  • Taking part in the challenge
  • Sharing your hopes are for the future, for Britain and people experiencing homelessness
  • Sending a message to a homeless person who is self-isolating through the pandemic

Remember to use the hashtag #afuturewithouthomelessness to be in with a chance of having your post shared on the Crisis Instagram page.

How do we play?

You and your children can take part in the challenge from the comfort of your own homes by downloading the game onto your device. Simply download the free app 'Mobile Adventures' onto your smartphone or tablet 24 hours in advance, and on the day of the event, scan one of the QR codes that will be made available on this page.

You and your family are welcome to join the game any time between 12.00 and 17.00 on Saturday 30 May only, and average game play lasts for 30 minutes. Multiple participants can play on the same device at the same time as a team, or compete against each other by using separate devices.

Please note that this event is free of charge for an unlimited number of players on 30 May only. Players are not required to fundraise or donate to Crisis as part of this challenge.
