Icebreaker Tooting

Join our cold-water challenge at Tooting Bec Lido Icebreaker in 2027. 

Join the Crisis Icebreaker for a community cold water dip at one of London’s favourite lidos. Whether you’ll be facing the freeze for the first time, or regularly swim in winter, everyone is welcome to make a splash, to help end homelessness.    

In partnership with UK Cold Water Swimming Championships, we’re bringing you a unique morning of freezing fun, whether you’re a first-time dipper or regularly take the plunge. 

The session will start with a safety briefing and will be followed by hot drinks and prizes to win. 

Join us for one of three activities: 

The Icy Dip 

First time facing the freeze? Join us for an icy dip, swim one or two 30m widths, you’ll be doing it with a community of Icebreakers braving the cold together. 

Team Relay (4x30m) 

Enter as a team of 4 or less and complete 4 x 30m widths of the pool. This is a great option if you’re already part of a swim club and are acclimatised to cold water swimming. 

Inflatable Swim 

BYOI = Bring Your Own Inflatable. Whether it’s a floating unicorn, inflatable avocado or a classic rubber ring, complete a 30m width of the pool without your feet touching the bottom. This entry is best suited to those used to cold water swimming. 

 The SLSC UK Cold Water Swimming Championships were last on in 2025. More than 800 swimmers from around the globe, were being looked after by over 200 smiling volunteers, and enjoyed freezing races, hot tubs, saunas, cheering, bunting, stalls full of lovely swimmy goodies, bespoke beers and tasty hot food. On top of that, the Crisis Icebreaker’s faced the freeze and raised vital funds to help end homelessness. Expect all of this and more in 2027!
